Bracelets with a Secret
October 26, 2026
It starts with two bracelets.
One sparkles with beautiful blue and
turquoise beads. The other is simple blue leather, finished with a special WDMH
touch.
They’re sitting there, just waiting to
catch someone’s eye.
Pretty? Absolutely.
But at first glance, you’d never guess
the little secret they’re carrying.
They
were custom-made by My Wristy Business for the WDMH Auxiliary, thanks to
a fundraising idea led by volunteer Bev Beck. Something beautiful to wear.
Something thoughtful to give. And, as it turns out, something that does a
little good, too.
Then along comes the first shopper.
WDMH
CEO Cholly Boland spots the bracelets and chooses two. One for his wife and one
for his daughter. Maybe he’s thinking ahead to the holidays. Maybe he can
already picture the smiles when they open them.
And maybe that’s the moment the real
magic of these little bracelets begins.
Because
while one might end up tucked under a Christmas tree, the story doesn’t stop
there.
Half of every sale goes back to the
WDMH Auxiliary to help purchase equipment for Winchester District Memorial
Hospital.
So somewhere in our community, one
person gets a beautiful bracelet. And their hospital gets a gift too.
It’s
funny how something so small can carry so much.
A little sparkle. A little hometown
pride. A thoughtful gift for someone you love. And a little more support for
the hospital that means so much to our community.
It
sounds a bit like one of those cozy, small-town stories where everything comes
together just the way you hoped it would.
Except this story isn’t over yet.
There are still bracelets waiting for their
next chapter. Maybe one of them is yours.
Bracelets
are available through the WDMH Foundation office, or from Gift Shoppe volunteer
Ann Barkley. Beaded bracelets are $30, and leather bracelets are $36. To order,
call 613-774-2422, ext. 6162 or 6172.
Because
sometimes, the best gifts are the ones that give twice.
