Taking a Swing at Cancer

August 27, 2026

The WDMH Foundation is pleased to announce a $1,300 donation from the Iroquois Golf Club Ladies League in support of the WDMH Cancer Care Fund.

The funds were raised through the League's popular Lady and a Tramp tournament, a day of golf, games, dinner, and lots of laughs. Gentleman volunteers also stepped in to caddie for the ladies, adding to the fun.

Sponsored by River Rat Treasures, the tournament brought golfers and supporters together for a great cause. The winner of the 50/50 draw added to the day's generosity by donating his winnings right back to the fundraiser.

"We are so grateful to the Iroquois Golf Club Ladies League for choosing to keep their fundraising dollars local," said Cindy Ault Peters, Executive Director of the Foundation. "Cancer affects many families in our community, and funds raised through events like this help ensure patients can access care and support close to home."

The WDMH Foundation extends sincere thanks to the Iroquois Golf Club Ladies League, River Rat Treasures, the volunteer caddies, and everyone who helped make the tournament a success. This tournament was a hole-in-one for local cancer care.
