This Little Piggy Went to Diagnostic Imaging

August 19, 2026

A recent gift from 100 Women Who Care South Dundas is helping make X-rays safer, faster and more comfortable for some of WDMH's youngest patients.

The group donated $4,000 toward the purchase of a new Pigg-O-Stat Pediatric Immobilizer, with the remaining balance funded through other donations to the WDMH Foundation. The specialized device helps infants and toddlers stay still during X-rays, making it easier to capture clear images the first time around. That means fewer repeat exams, less radiation exposure and a better experience for children, families and staff.

"When a community comes together with purpose, extraordinary things happen,” said Cindy Ault Peters, Executive Director of the WDMH Foundation. “Thank you to those who attended the event and for choosing to support our tiniest patients."

The new equipment recently arrived at WDMH, and members of the Diagnostic Imaging team gathered to celebrate. It is already helping the team care for young patients and is another example of how community support brings important equipment to the hospital, strengthening care close to home. Thanks to generous community support, this little piggy is already making a big difference for little patients.
