Step into Something Grand
August 12, 2026
It’s time to dust off those walking
shoes and take a step toward something meaningful.
The
WDMH Foundation is inviting the community to join The Grand Parade, a fun,
family-friendly fundraising walk taking place on Saturday, September 19, 2026,
in support of the Dundas Manor redevelopment.
This event brings together friends, families, businesses, community
groups, and neighbours for a day of celebration, connection, and giving back.
"We're looking forward to seeing
our community come together for a great cause," says Lindsay Whitteker, Community
Engagement Coordinator. "The Grand
Parade is a simple way for everyone to support the new Dundas Manor while
enjoying time with family and friends."
Dundas
Manor is a long-term care home in Winchester that has cared for residents from
local communities for more than 45 years. The new Dundas Manor will feature
larger resident rooms, improved accessibility, enhanced privacy, and space for
30 additional residents. Construction is well underway thanks to tremendous
community support, and fundraising continues as the project moves closer to
completion.
Whether
you're an avid walker or simply looking for a fun way to support a local cause,
everyone is welcome. Participants can register, join a team, donate, or learn
more at: https://thegrandparade.org/location/winchester.
The
walk starts and finishes at 530 Fred Street in Winchester.
