A Perennial Success
June 19, 2026
What started
as a simple plant sale has once again grown into something truly meaningful.
This year’s
Jane Sachs Plant Sale raised an impressive $1,502.40, with proceeds supporting
the purchase of a Workstation on Wheels (WOW) for the Oncology Department at
Winchester District Memorial Hospital. A cheque presentation was held on June
3, 2026, marking another successful chapter for this grassroots fundraiser.
Each spring,
Jane transforms spare sprouts into support for local healthcare proving that a
little community spirit can really plant the seed for something bigger. Her
roadside stand along Highway 31 has become a must-stop for gardeners and
passersby alike, offering everything from herbs and perennials to shrubs and
vegetables, all on the honour system.
“Jane’s
commitment continues to inspire,” says Cindy Ault Peters, Executive Director of
the WDMH Foundation. “It’s incredible to see how something as simple as sharing
plants can grow into meaningful support for patients and care teams.”
Since
launching her plant sale, Jane’s efforts have continued to take root in the
community, growing both awareness and impact with every season.
The WDMH
Foundation extends sincere thanks to Jane and to everyone who stopped by,
picked out a plant, and helped this fundraiser bloom once again.
