A Perennial Gift
April 30, 2026
Every spring,
Jane Sachs proves that a few extra plants can do a whole lot of good. What began
as a seasonal garden clean‑out has blossomed into a heartfelt community
fundraiser that continues to give back year after year.
Once again
Jane is hosting her roadside plant sale at the end of her driveway along
Highway 31 between Williamsburg and Morrisburg (5023 Highway 31, Glen Becker).
Neighbours and passersby are encouraged to stop in, browse the selection, and
pick out a plant (or two), with payment left using the honour system. You’ll
find a rotating mix of herbs, annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, and
vegetables; and because it changes all the time, you never quite know what will
be waiting. That’s part of the charm, so slow down, stop in, and take a look.
Every dollar raised supports the WDMH Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund.
Since 2018,
Jane’s plant sales have raised $2,471.45 for Winchester District Memorial
Hospital and $1,000 for Dundas Manor. Her roots in community giving go back
even further, supporting local causes this way since before 2010.
Jane’s ongoing generosity is a
reminder that small, community‑hosted initiatives can really take root, and make
a meaningful difference close to home.
The WDMH Foundation extends a
heartfelt thank‑you to Jane for her continued kindness, and to everyone who
stops by and helps this fundraiser keep blooming year after year.
