Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Assistants work with clients of all ages with a wide variety of health conditions. These may include:

  • pain management
  • rehabilitation from acute/post operative injuries
  • management of chronic conditions such as heart and lung disease
  • general deconditioning
  • falls prevention

We may teach the patients exercises or provide them with education and advice for health promotion, disease or injury prevention. We also offer hip, knee and cardiac rehabilitation classes.

We recommend that you bring in your indoor shoes. After the initial outpatient physiotherapy assessment, registration will be completed in the rehab department.

WDMH also offers a satellite physiotherapy site at Centre des Santé Communautaire de l’Estrie in Embrun.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists (OT) help people learn or manage the everyday activities that are important to them, including caring for themselves, caring for their home, and performing activities of daily living and meal preparation. The OT may also make splints and prescribe equipment and assistive devices. If you normally use a wheelchair or walker, please bring it with you to the hospital.
