MASKING AT WDMH

Respiratory illness season is here, and with rising cases of influenza and other viruses in our community we are temporarily bringing back mandatory masking requirements for all visitors starting December 18, 2025.

Masks are available at the main entrance, the Emergency Department entrance, and at all nursing stations. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe.

Please do not come to the hospital to visit patients if you are feeling unwell.

Accreditation with Exemplary Standing!

Winchester District Memorial Hospital is proud to share that we have once again received Accreditation with Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada!  This is the highest award, and WDMH has received this honour for the fourth consecutive time.  This is a true reflection of our ongoing commitment to compassionate excellence, close to home.

Accreditation is a voluntary process that looks closely at the quality of care and services in health care organizations. It includes a self-assessment, an on-site visit by expert surveyors, and a detailed report.

The WDMH survey took place from November17-19, 2025.  During the on-site visit, surveyors spoke with staff, physicians, volunteers, patients, families, community members, and our Board.  Our team was evaluated against 1,385 national standards, and we met more than 99%of them!  Accreditation helps us celebrate what’s working well and identify opportunities to improve. When you see the Accreditation Canada seal, you can feel confident that we’re committed to delivering safe, high-quality care.
